Frequently Asked Questions

Unfortunately, due to the many requests I have received in the past for information on individual series and actors/actresses, the availability of DVD's, etc...it has become impossible to reply to individual questions. Therefore, rather than disappoint anyone, I have set up a Forum where you can post your message and with any luck one of the many forum members that look in each week will be able to give you an answer. Alternatively, you may be able to answer someone else's question.

The TVH Forum is free to join. There's no catch and no charge. However, due to the high proportion of spamming messages or free advertisements that people have tried to post in the past, all new sign-ups have to be activated by a Forum Administrator before you can post and this means there will be a delay of 24 hours before you can use the forum for anything other than reading. The chances are that if you are using a 'webmail' address such as .gmail @hotmail, yahoo or similar your sign-up will not be approved. But only because it is users with these addresses who have continually tried to take advantage of the TVH Forum in the past. No offence is intended. Your email address will not be passed to any third party nor will you receive any spammed mail from the TVH Forum as a result of joining. The link to the TVH Forum can be found on the left of this page.

Do you sell video's or DVD's of any of the shows you review on this site?

Check the TVH DVD Shop UK (link on the left of this page) for all your DVD purchases. (Sorry, the DVD Shop USA is no longer available). If you are purchasing video's always remember that different countries have different formats so, for example, a video you purchase in the USA will not play on a machine purchased in the UK. DVD's are not so restrictive as you can now buy players that are "multi-region", which means that you can have the best of both worlds.

What is the difference between a "Region 1 DVD" and a "Region 2 DVD"

Region 1 is the format used in the USA. Region 2 is used in the UK

Do you have access to a list of which TV shows are available to purchase on video or DVD?

Unfortunately, no. Again the best thing to do is find an online store like the TVH DVD Shop and search for the product you require (this has a built-in search-engine).

I have been waiting for a particular episode of a certain show/series to come on TV. Can you tell me when it might be broadcast.

No. This is probably one of the most common questions I get asked. Unfortunately, I do not have access to information about planned TV schedules.

You haven't reviewed my favourite TV show. How come?

Television Heaven is developing all the time and new reviews are added on an almost weekly basis. The chances are that if a show hasn't been covered it's because our small team of reviewers simply haven't got round to it yet. Check back for regular updates.

Can I suggest a review?

Please do. I may have overlooked something really obvious.

I've noticed a mistake on your website

Feel free to email me with details of the error and I will correct it as soon as possible.

Can I contribute to Television Heaven or any of your websites?

I would be more than happy to hear from anyone wishing to contribute a review of their favourite show as long as it isn't already featured on the site. All articles should be original work.

Can I advertise on your website?

Yes. This site uses a number of tried and tested affiliate links. I do not offer free links to profit-making websites or businesses. A Fixed Advertising Rate is available for advertisers wishing to place an ad/link on Television Heaven. Please contact the site for a quote through the email address below.

I have a website of my own...can I link to your site?

Certainly. Please use my email address to contact me and I will be more than happy to add a reciprocal link to any fansite or non-profit making website. However, I will not link to businesses that are looking for free advertising or under the assumption that it will raise my Search Engine rating. Nor will I link to any site that I consider to contain offensive material.

Site Information

Television Heaven is a work in progress...

...its aim is to preserve the memory of television programmes both past and present that the writers/reviewers either consider to be true classics, or have a lasting influence on what we watch or how we view the world around us. To this end as long as programme makers make programmes Television Heaven will have enough material to keep expanding. So far it has only scratched the surface...

Television Heaven was launched in January 2000 and by May of that year the visitor rate grew from a handful of friends to almost 8,000 visitors. The site continues to grow and the current hit rate is around 1.8 million a month.

Television Heaven is one of first of three linked sites. It's direct companion site www.teletronic.co.uk , is also television related but leans more towards articles than reviews. It is mainly concerned with the history of television. The third site is www.reminiscethis.co.uk a British nostalgia site.

Obviously when putting together a website of this size and depth it is necessary to research numerous resources and call on an untold amount of references. This means utilising what is available as well as relying on the memories of those people who have been gracious enough to grant me interviews or send me emails with pieces of information that might not be available elsewhere. There will be unavoidable instances where something you have read here may be available elsewhere either in print or on the Internet. That is because Television Heaven is a factual work and not a work of fiction. It is inevitable that comparisons may be drawn by articles appearing here to what you have read elsewhere. However, every attempt is made to avoid the wholesale reproduction of other authors work. All the articles on this website, unless otherwise stated are the original words of the attributed authors.
